City of Eden Prairie Receives 2014 Workplace Well-Being Award
The City of Eden Prairie was recently awarded the 2014 Workplace Well-being Award at the Minnesota Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) conference in October.
According to a city release, the city won in the mid-size business category. The city’s efforts to promote health and well-being among its employees with programs such as the “Live Well, Our Choice” program offered by the city.
“We’re extremely proud of this award and the level of participation we’ve accomplished with our wellness programs,” City Manager Rick Getschow said in the release. “In 2013, more than 75 percent of City employees completed a health assessment and more than half participated in a biometric screening.”
A total of 38 organizations were nominated for the award with just three taking one home. The award is sponsored by HealthPartners, and each nomination was evaluated based on specific criteria, with a “best in class” workplace selected for each category, the release said.
