Eden Prairie’s International School Opens Residence Hall
The International School of Minnesota (ISM) just began classes on Monday, Aug. 25 and for more than a dozen students from abroad, the school’s campus has also become home.
According to the Sun Current, ISM recently opened a residence hall on its 55-acre campus that has room for up to 32 students, theater, recreation center, laundry, kitchen and fitness center, as well as an apartment for the full-time, on-campus house parents.
The campus is located at 6385 Beach Rd. and has been serving those locally and abroad for 29 years.
“The essence of the ISM experience is our cultural diversity. ISM is the only true international school in the area, and with the addition of the residence hall we are attracting an even greater number of international students to our campus,” ISM Director Christi Seiple-Cole reportedly said during an August ribbon cutting ceremony for the new hall.
According to the Sun Current, ISM is a member of the SABIS School Network, a global education management organization that serves more than 63,000 students enrolled in schools located in 15 countries on four continents. The majority of ISM students are local, but its international education system draws students from all over the country and world, the paper said.
