Giant Ice Castle Coming to Eden Prairie

For the last few weeks crews have been working to prepare a spot for a giant ice castle to be built at Eden Prairie’s Miller Park.

According to WCCO, two winters ago Utah-based Brent Christensen built an ice castle outside the Mall of America in Bloomington, and now he’s back for another year.

Instead of using blocks to create his ice castles Christensen uses icicles and water to make a towering, glacier-like structure with a series of walls, tunnels and archways, BringMeTheNews reported. Thousands of LED lights will also be used to light the whole thing up.

“It’s going to be a really cool spot,” Christensen reportedly said.

The display is expected to be open Dec. 26 through sometime in March, weather permitting.
