Safe Choice Security Names Eden Prairie to Safest MN Cities List
Eden Prairie ranked No. 9 and was among 20 other cities including Edina, Mound and Maple Grove that made the list. According to Safe Choice Security, the rankings were based on 2012 FBI Crime Statistics reports. After analyzing the statistics on property and violent crimes rates, the company was able to rank the top 21 safest towns in the state. Here’s how Eden Prairie is described on the list:
“Eden Prairie, MN is just southwest of Minneapolis and is another bigger city for this state. Bordering the Minnesota River, what used to be a bedroom suburb is now a high-demand area for Twin Cities residents looking for a cleaner space with more outdoor room. Trails, parks and open space are amongst the benefits of living in this city. It has repeatedly appeared in the Money Magazine listing of best places to live in the U.S., even having won the top place once. The relatively low crime rate for a city of this size is very appealing. The city police and fire department are committed to communication and emergency preparedness.”
Hibbing took the No. 1 spot followed by Lino Lakes and Farmington at second and third, respectively.
