Six Eden Prairie Students Awarded National Merit Scholarships

Six Eden Prairie students have been chosen to receive National Merit Scholarships financed by colleges and universities.

According to the Eden Prairie News, officials of each sponsor college selected their scholarship winners from among the finalists in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program who plan to attend their institution.

The winners are:

  • Joshua A. Langeland, Eagle Ridge Academy, National Merit University of Minnesota Scholarship.
  • Kathryn Marusich, Benilde-St. Margaret’s School, National Merit University of Minnesota Scholarship.
  • Satish R. Uppaluri, Eden Prairie High School, National Merit University of Minnesota Scholarship.
  • Ryan M. Watkins, homeschool, National Merit University of Minnesota Scholarship.
  • Katherine Yan, Eden Prairie High School, National Merit Case Western Reserve University Scholarship.
  • Timothy J. Zeien, Holy Family Catholic High School, National Merit University of Minnesota Scholarship.

These awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship, the report said.
