Yellow Ribbon Network Teams Up With DECA to Send Supplies to Troops

The Eden Prairie Yellow Ribbon Network and Eden Prairie High School DECA students recently sent more than 500 pounds of supplies to soldiers currently deployed in Afghanistan.

According to the Sun CurrentDECA spearheaded a collection drive in February to gather specific items requested by the soldiers, which included things like  beef jerky, hard candy and fruit snacks. The items were sent to the 114th Transportation Company, which is based in Chisholm.

The Eden Prairie Yellow Ribbon Network connects and coordinates agencies, organizations, resources and employers for the purpose of supporting veterans, service members, and military families, the Sun Current reported.

The care packages should arrive in Afghanistan in the next few weeks.
