Eden Prairie was first settled in 1852 and was named "Eden" the next year by a Mrs. Elizabeth F. Ellet for her admiration of the beautiful prairie land. Currently ranked third on MONEY Magazine’s "Best Places to Live” in America, Eden Prairie is home to more than 62,000 people and 2,800 businesses. More than 10,000 acres of land is designated for parks and opens spaces, and trails, as well as beautiful lakes and beaches.
